Pitea Goes Crazy!

Hallå Allihopa! (Hello Everyone)

I am now in Sweden! It has been a crazy 10 days since I have been here. I am recently homeless. I have been jumping around apartments until my apartment in ready. My coach is living in my apartment until his house is finished and ready for him and his family! It has been quite an adventure but I am glad at the same time. I have really gotten to know the two new girls from Umea, Hanna and Anna.  I am currently living with them for a week or so. As you all know I enjoy talking and being around people...so having roommates that are as cool as them is not so bad! We have done a lot of fun rituals since I have stayed with them. First we have smoothies after every training. We also take ice baths outside the balcony in the snow! Take a look at pictures of our adventures.

And then our awesome smoothies after training to get our antioxidants back into our body!

The PIF team this year is made up of amazing girls. They have great talent and hilarious to hang out with off the field. I have only been here two weeks but we have worked hard on trying to get to know each other. We train everyday and on Tuesday and Fridays we go to the gym as a team. We are working with Tomas who is a certified cross fit trainer. I can say that this workout is one of the best I have done. I try to do at least 300 to 500 abs a day and I never really see results in my stomach. But since I have worked out with Tomas and done his cross training abs I can finally start to see some definition!! UH OH WATCH OUT hahaha. But it consist of lots of planks and combination of exercises while doing a plank! We also do weights which is more cardio weight than heavy weight. Check out our fun session!

Today we had a day off and we decided to go to the pool instead of resting!! But we had a good time and well worth it! Here we are being mature adults hah

So I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and video...I would like to leave you with one more exciting thing! It's a Friday night and this is what a few girls on the team love to do. Go door to door and scar the crap out of other teammates!!

Have a good weekend!!!

And check out our cross fit trainer Tomas! His website is www.4-klovern.blogspot.com/

Have  good weekend!

Tusen tack Piteå IF, för allt stöd ni ger mig - otroligt tacksam!

Starting Off 2012

A new year and a new 2012 Dallmasvenskan season! So many excited things to look forward to! I am now in the states awaiting my arrival back into Sweden! Just 10 more days. I am so excited and ready to meet the new team members who have bravely signed with Pitea! Ha. Not only are we going to rock on the field but I'm sure the new girls will be such a great addition to our pitea family! I have missed everyone's friendly faces and goofy ways!

A few of my resolutions for soccer this year are
1: Staying healthy and taking care of my body better
2: Focusing more in the penalty area (no post this year)

Resolutions for pitea
1: Buying a " spark"  for my winter ride
2: Learning Swedish/speaking more Swedish
3: Figuring out job options in Sweden for when soccer is complete. (Know any ideas let me know)

I have lots to focus on this year but setting goals always helps me strive!

My 2012 has already set off in the right direction! I spent one week in Portland Oregon visiting my best friend. I went hiking in the mountains and did things that I have not yet experienced. Check out the video....

I had two days in Quincy Illinois to pack up my life and start my journey back to Sweden. I am now in Providence Rhode Island visiting my brother before I head over to Pitea. It was not an easy trip. I arrived at the airport and immediately saw my flight's delayed. That being said I knew I probably was going to miss my connecting flight to RI. But when things like this un expectantly  happen, I tell myself to stay calm and go and find the nicest person you can to help! At the desk I found a friendly older women and a man who looked like a pilot. I brought up something funny to talk about and got them in a good mood and laughing. After that I told them my situation and the lady was more than happy to give me a pre boarding pass so I could be the first person on the flight and first person off the flight. And that would save me time to sprint to my connecting flight. While I was standing there the pilot started up conversation and we became friends immediately. He then used his connections and told the airlines to hold the plane  long enough for me and my luggage to make it.  Also I was the ONLY person on my flight who was going to RI so usually they wont hold it for one person. I got off the plane and SPRINTED my heart out to the next gate. Thank God I have trained hard for the season that I had the stamina to sprint for that long.

But im happily in RI and loving every moment with my brother! Here is some pictures of my short visit. Cliffs and the sea to one side and mansions on the other! It's a truly amazing place!

I am truly blessed and love my life!! Arrive in Sweden on Sunday!! YAY....cant wait to see my Pitea locals!

I hope everyone had a great start to the new year! Please comment and tell me how you started off 2012!

Check out my new website that includes pictures, videos, blogs and other great information that you might want to know about me!!

Relieving Stress Between Workouts

Hey Everyone! I officially signed another year with Pitea IF. If you guys do not know I am currently in America for two months during the off season! I continue to workout everyday getting physically stronger and healthier for the 2012 season.  I spend most of my days getting fit and prepared for the uncoming seasons that sometimes I need to relieve some stress and get away from soccer.

Living here in the Midwest offers a lot of opportunities to do neat things. One of my dads friends is a competitive pistol shooter and is a master at what he does. Over the weekend he took us to the shooting range and let us shoot several of his guns.

This was my first time ever to shoot a gun. It was extremley fun but very scary! But my  motto is "when you are face with fear....jump head first and just do it". And I did! Check out a quick video of my new favorite hobby!

Many fun things to do in America so many more videos to come!

Trick or Treat? Bus eller Godis?

Hey Fans! Yes...It has been way too long since I have wrote a blog! Once I get my video camera I promise more videos and fun updates! I am not a blogger without my video camera! So I promise once I get that more fun updates!

Living here in Sweden has made me realize how I truly LOVE halloween! I have always loved carving pumpkins and dressing up and giving out candy to "trick or treaters". But for the last few years I have been in Sweden during Oct 31st and I honestly have to say that its sad that they dont get into Halloween! I understand if they dont like dressing up and going door to door (because honestly I might be too old for that by now). But going to pumpkin patches to pick out your favorite pumpkin, or haunted houses and haunted corn mazes. Those are the small things I miss while being away from home.

BUT no worries! I have brought Halloween to Sweden! I am throwing a big costume get together on Sat and everyone attending HAS to dress up! I also carved a pumpkin and put it out on the balcony! Here is a picture!

I will post more pictures of my costume and the ideas Swedes come up with as well after Sat!!! Its going to be interessting to see how the Swedish mind thinks. The American halloween costumes are really never scary! We take ideas from movies, tv shows or most girls in America take a simple idea and make it sexy! Ill post pictures next week on Sweden vs American costumes from the party!!

Also this week I made Palt for the first time! PALT IS M FAVORITE and i was taught by an amazing person who I believe makes the best Palt in Sweden! And I know nobody will believe me....but we made 84 palt!i I'm a pro athlete and i work out for a living, but i think making palt for 3 hours is MUCH harder than a two hour workout! I have never been so tired after making that much palt. I was so sore in my back for standing that long. So guess what I did? I made a palt dance while I was making it.  The dance move just has basic stretching for the hips and back. Im sure you can use your imagination and pictue my dance moves!!

Take a look at the amazing palt!!

Can you say PALT SCHWEEEEEMAN!!! That is what you get after eating palt. To compare it to something so you Americans understand. Its like what you feel after Thanksgiving dinner!! Basically it puts you to sleep with a pregnant belly!! But its totally worth it!

Palt is a potatoe flour base with any type of meat you like inside!! Literally fantastic!

Well...stay tuned for more fun updates and pictures about Saturdays Cotume Frinzy!!!

Americans say: Trick or Treat?

Swedes Say: Bus eller Godis?

SO FUN!!

Hej Då To Relegation!!

Fans and friends...If you have not heard we have secured a spot in the top league for next season! I had no doubt in my mind that we would accomplish this but to know for sure with still 3 games left is a feeling that cant be described. We have really pushed through and stayed strong during the rough times this season. When we had major injuries, teammates stepped up and did there best and when we had a rough first half we came back strong and better the second half. I am really proud of this team and excited to see us move up in the rankings the last 3 games! Not only are we secure but we are passing teams in the ranking!!

Capturing the moment!

Thoughts when the whistle blew!

Erika (Twin) "It was almost the same feeling that I had when we won the league last season. It was a feeling of comfort and security and a sense of accomplishment"

Carm- A great group effort and we shut them down tactically and a great performance from the players who came on in the late minutes of the game"

Mel "What game?"

Faith & Nma "Fantastic game and everyone on the team worked so hard and I am so proud and its a feeling of importance to be able to stay in this league. Mission Accomplished.....To God be the glory"

Lenny "Relief"

Leaf " Yes...hahaha...Thank god its over"

Victoria "Finally"

Nma "happy happy happy happy happy"

Jennifer (me) "We just kicked there butt and it feels good to see them surprised and upset"

Come celebrate this great win and the rest of a fun season with us next Sat October 1st when we play against Tyresö!!!

Watch the Pro's...No ball Necessary

Take a look at the talent we have on our team!!!

A quick recap on our game yesteday! I feel like we did a great job considering we were traveling on the road. I am proud of the girls over coming a great loss in the first 9 minutes of the game. We lost one of our best players and our captain to an injury! It breaks my heart to see that happen to her! But I know she is strong and will recover fast!  Feels good though to get a point on the road to one of the top teams!

Come out Sunday to our home game against Gothenburg! Cant wait to see you all there.

Wow…Sorry it has been so long since I have blogged! I am finally back into a routine now that the second part of the season has begun! Break was fantastic but it feels nice to be back in the swing of things!

We have played two games since we have returned! Winning 1 out of the 2. Its not a bad start but I feel like we still have so much to show. Our two new players have not yet started playing but I cant wait for them to show there talent and what they have to offer. Carm is already here and has been training and Melissa arrives this coming week! And you better believe I will be doing a video blog about them! They are interesting characters you want to get to know!

Last week I had the opportunity to "dive" for the first time! Tell me about wanting to poop your pants. hahha! A friend of mine is a licensed diver and asked me and a friend to join! I am always looking to try new things so I couldn't say no!

I was feeling confident and really exited until he started telling me the rules and guidelines to diving. FIrst thing out of his mouth was….."No matter what DO NOT hold your breath when we come up from the bottom to the surface. If you do your lungs will explode"!  Immediately I started thinking if this was a good idea and if coach Peter would be mad if I never showed up for practice again. hahaha

But I swallowed my fear and went for it anyways….but let my friend go first to see if he would come back alive!

(Conny our expert)

(Conny and Jonas) (Chose him first to see if he came back alive)

Soon it was my turn and I jumped in the water! I adapted quickly to the breathing and we started to move toward the bottom! I was trying to concentrate on my breathing because its a lot harder than you would think breathing under water. But I kept thinking about the long grass that grows on the bottom. This is one of my biggest fears and I panic if it touches me. I am afraid it will wrap around my leg and I will be pulled under. Weird fear I know!!! But thats when I knew things were going to be okay because I found 20 kr right away. It was my lucky day!!

Now im ready to try sky diving! AAHHHH

Home game next weekend against Hammarby @ 4!!! Come support us and see the new Canadians play!!

Team is regrouping from Djurgarden and we are continuing to look forward. I feel it will be a positive season. We just have to keep believing!! We need you guys to keep believing too!!
