As I said in my last blog. Pite IF is now on break and has been for about a month now! We start practice again on Monday the 11th. Until then my parents came to Sweden and we are touring around trying to understand the Swedish way of life!
We just finished Stockholm and on the train to Gothenburg as I type. Stockholm was an amazing city full of culture, history and people who meet the typical Swedish sterotype!
First we took the “Under the bridge tour” and really got acquainted with Stockholm from the water point of view. It was a two hour boat ride and it went around the entire mainland. Best thing for us to do first because we saw where everything was located so when we walked we knew exactly where to go! All I really needed to find was the shopping....hahha! As we were on the boat we had headphones on listening to the history and facts about each individual building we came across. Very cool!
My favorite fact I learned was: How vikings in Stockholm were what Americans know as Pirates!
My moms favorite thing she learned was about the little houses that were rented out to plant flowers and grow vegetables. They started out for the poor workers back in the earlier times and now they are highly sought after by people who want gardens.
My father was very impressed with how old Stockholm is compared to the US. Stockholm was founded around 1000AD and the US around 1776. (estimated years)
A few things that my parents were astonished by were the bathrooms and each bathroom has its own individual stall, how you pay for the hotel after you have stayed there instead of when you arrive, how family oriented Sweden is, seeing a lot of men with children without the women and the biggest thing my parents laughed about were the men wearing capri pants! I find it highly attractive and stylish but my parents are not use to seeing that. I am trying to get my dad to buy a pair! A picture my mom took of a guy her age wearing capri pants....they laughed about this for a while
Overall we are having such a great time and really enjoying the Swedish food and way of life. We have lots more to experience in Gothernburg and Copenheagan and of course PITEA!!! Really excited to show my parents my life in Pitea.
Enjoy the following pictures of our Stockholm adventure
Hi friends and fans. Its official...Pitea IF girls are now on summer break. Our last practice was Thursday of this week. We now have 10 days off to enjoy and to continue to stay in shape. We do not have a game until the end of July!
I know a lot of you are wondering what a day will be like if we have no soccer!! Besides working out and running (which I will do a video of) we love to enjoy life and unwind from the hard work and stress we had the first half of the season.
Here is a better explanation of my so called life during our break.
Laying out with friends, golfing, and working out = best life ever! This will be a great break.
Also I am really looking forward to my parents coming to Sweden!!! We are going to adventure out to Stockholm, Gothenburg, Copenhagen and PITEA!!!
If anyone knows of things we have to do while they are in Sweden....let me know!
Everyone enjoy this amazing weather and have a good weekend!!
Stay tuned because this break/summer will be a great opportunity for making videos! I have lots of ideas and I know you will enjoy them!
I want to start off with a quick update on the season and then on to the "good stuff"
First half of the season is about to end. We have one game left this Sunday against Umea IK. SUNDAY @ LF 16:00 (4) AND its on TV...but that doesnt mean you can sit at home on your comfy couch! I want all of you to be in the stands cheering us on.
We need 3 points this sunday to end the season well! I dont want to say we are struggling because I believe we are playing well. The scores of the games have not portrayed us well. Just a few changes for the second half of the season and we will be collecting points again in NO TIME!!!!!
CAN PITEA IF GIRLS SING??
HAHAHAHHAA Well let me just tell you....Kind of! We have 2 okay singers- Linnea and Fiona! One really good singer - Vickan and then 2 bad singers- Me and Karlsson!
Us 5 recorded a song that an amazing guy Kenneth Flodin wrote! Its called Pitea-Damfotboll. I def think we all should stick to soccer. But its fun to adventure out of the comfort zone and try new things! Plus the song is in SWENGLISH!!!
It was kind of tricky singing in swedish...but Fiona and I made it through!
We had 1 group of 3 record first....and then two of us recorded! Of course Karlsson and I were together. (THe two worst singers) NO WHERE TO HIDE....UGH! But we made it fun!!
Check out the video I made of the behind scenes as we record our first soccer song!
We ran out of batteries before me and Karlsson sang...BUT you can hear it on TV Sunday during the game AND....WAIT FOR IT.....
We are making a music video next week to the new song we recorded!! SO PLEASE STAY TUNE FOR THAT.....ITS A MUST SEE!
Hope everyone has a great LONG weekend! I know I will.
Come out Sunday to LF @ 16:00 PIF vs Umea IF...ARRIVALS!!!
Nu är alla spelare hemma i Piteå, och redo för seriepremiären imorogn. Stephanie och Johanna Lindahl tippar matchen. Hur tror du premiärmatchen slutar?
